Avène Crème protectrice UV
SPF 30 PA+++ Review

Why use a Sunscreen?

Sunscreen in India is regarded as a cosmetic product but in other countries such as UK,US, Canda it is an Over-the-counter product. In reality it should be the most important product that one should be using in the mornings, men, women, children all alike. Even if you don’t use any creams or moisturisers just make the effort to use any sunscreen as UV rays causes potential skin damages and over constant exposure it might also lead alteration in DNA and potential risk of skin cancer.

Especially in India where in most parts of the country the UV Index is quite high one should be applying sunscreen and make an effort to reapply it every 2-3 hours as mentioned on the product.

Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes and cover your scalp to protect your scalp from sun burns.

It is a myth that darker skin toned people do not need sun protection products. In reality they produce more melanin so that the skin doesn’t burn but it is still prone to the harmful effects of the UV rays.

My views on Avène Crème protectrice UV

It works great on my acne prone skin. I have had issues with sunscreens in the past where they break me out after just one use. As it’s already mentioned on the package that it is hypoallergenic (unlikely to cause any allergies) and non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), it doesn't irritate or make my skin break out at all like other sunscreens. It is fragrance-free (I find that it smells like typical SPF but good news is that the scent doesn't linger) so wouldn’t irritate skin that react to fragrance in products.
The formula is hydrating and is non sticky. It is a white semi-runny liquid with very light soft texture but it blends into the skin effortlessly without leaving a white caste.

It is a great choice for those who are looking for chemical (organic) sunscreen and also for people who wear makeup.

The product blended into the skin dries off within couple minutes

How to use sunscreen?

Use it after applying your moisturiser as the last step in your skincare. If you apply makeup then, do your skincare, apply the sunscreen and then start with your makeup. If you are using any product that already has sunscreen in it, you can use this along with the product as well for better coverage and protection from sun damage. Make sure to re-apply every 2-3 hours.
